Verbs like practicar, tocar, pagar and almorzar are all considered -car-gar-zar verbs because of their endings. For a -car verb like tocar, the c is changed to qu when it comes before an e. Present Tense Verb Conjugations. The first tense you’ll learn how to conjugate for is the present tense, or el presente.
